A new addition to the VanMoof lineup has been spotted in the wild, just one week before the official reveal event (29.03.22).

First, let’s talk about delivery times.
Back in 2020, VanMoof introduced the S3/X3 lineup and offered riders the chance to pre-order the bikes until the reveal event. When the bikes were officially launched on April 21st, the first shipments took place in late May, but delivery times were already as long as three months.
VanMoof’s upcoming reveal next week may bring with it news of a new ordering process, either through invitation codes or open orders for everyone.
Either way, high demand is expected to lead to longer delivery times. Riders who receive invitation codes will have the advantage of being able to secure the new bikes sooner, potentially even before summer.
Note that searching for invitation codes on social media is a popular tactic to generate interest and create a sense of excitement.
On the other hand, open orders may result in server overloads and stress for buyers during the rush.

The first batches of the S3/X3 had some issues, such as bent disks, wobbly wheels, drained batteries, and more, but VanMoof worked to fix these problems within a year. We’re hopeful that VanMoof has put in the time and effort to ensure the S5 is of the highest quality.
What about the price?
On March 8, VanMoof raised the prices of the S3 and X3 by €150, due to factors such as supply chain disruptions, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the Ukraine-Russia war. While we were hoping for a price decrease, it’s not realistic to expect one in the near future. Currently, the S3 and X3 are listed at €2348, and there is no official price tag for the S5 yet.
