I had a crush on the design, the completeness, the ecosystem and the technology.
Until today, I had more than 2400 kilometers with it. One time had a problem with the bell button cable. I wrote an email to VanMoof support, received a transport label. They picked the bicycle from my house, got it fixed and returned in a week (exactly 7 days).
In my town the bicycle services would give you an appointment, earliest in month, plus the repair time. Imagine 5–6 weeks.I like the vision VanMoof has, pity that it was too late to invest cuz I saw the email back then some hours later.Anyway, if we change the perspective from individual to the mass market, they need to move fast because the market is very competitive.
On top of it the, manufacturing of a robust good with a lot of tech is already hard. A bicycle has many pieces and requires much larger and heavier boxes. The supply chain, transportation, service, maintenance all of these are bringing a lot of stress to the company.
If you ordered a S3 and experience minor or major problems with it, I would suggest you to consider these points above.
